Hello reader, this is my Action project for art of rhetoric unit 3. This unit was about uniting people together. First we had to learn what divides people before we can learn what unites them. We looked at ways others have been united, particularly with policies. My classmates and I went on a field experience to two unique places that have worked to unite a certain population. First we went to the uptown neighborhood to meet with 48th ward neighbors for justice. This organization challenges the status quo in many ways related to housing, incarceration and police, and even methods of mental health treatment accessibility. Next we went to a place called Civic projects where my class and I learned about how Civic Projects works on ethical architecture projects that benefit the community instead of putting more money in their pockets. To wrap up the unit, I did a piece of rhetor - art about an issue I am passionate about. This is my art and my artist statement. Enjoy! Artist statement: I...

Hello reader! This is my action project for Design & Engineering unit 2. This unit I learned about the design process, gears, circles, ellipses, the ethics of design, gear ratios, and much more. This unit we went on a lot of great FE's but the FE to Dyson was really great in my opinion because we got to work WITH design not just have them talk to us then us doing nothing with it. Something I am very proud of this unit is my interview because I put a lot of work in to it. For this project I was given a persona to design a bike for based off the situation the person is in. The purpose of this project is to use all the information we have learned this unit on a real world problem being solved by others around the world but in our own GCE kind of way. Persona: Meet Miquel Location: Sitges, Spain Age: 12 Distance from school: 1.5 miles SITUATION Sitges is a small coastal town on the water, but it’s also full of tourists - meaning Miguel has to worry about vandalism when they lock ...

Coding Is A Slam Dunk

This was my action project for Intro to Coding unit 3. For this unit we looked at how to code “if, elif, else” statements. For my project I created a simple code asking questions about basketball because it is an interest of mine. Enjoy!  This project was overall very fun and relaxed. I learned how to use a fairly complex language in a fun way about a topic I like. I encountered a few bugs here and there but overall coding this project was smooth. It was a little hard to think of questions but I just acted as though I was talking to a friend about basketball.

Hello reader, this is my Action project for art of rhetoric unit 2. This unit was about challenging the status quo. First we had to learn what the status quo is and what it means. We looked at what the status quo was throughout history. Then we looked at what it is today. We studied those who have challenged the status quote and those who have defended it. To assist in our journey about learning the in’s and out’s of the status quo, My classmates and I went on a field experience to two unique places that have challenged the status quo. First we went to an independent political organization called 48th Ward Working Families. This organization challenges the status quo in many ways related to housing, incarceration and police, and even methods of mental health treatment accessibility. Next we went to a place called Civic projects where my class and I learned about how Civic Projects works on ethical architecture projects that benefit the community instead of putting more money in th...
